Could you be our new Technical Services Manager in our UK AOC? You will be responsible for oversight of the Technical management of our UK based B787 fleet and make sure that the performance within the domain is safe and efficient across the Norwegian Group and our group operations resources. You will be a part of our airline operations department and report to the UK Postholder for Continuing Airworthiness.

As Technical Services Manager in NUK, your daily task will be to ensure all maintenance is performed to the approved standard and within the allotted time and in accordance with all applicable regulations and procedures. You will achieve operational excellence by implementing best practises and deliver a high level of productivity. You shall ensure that all Part M activities carried out in our shared service centre (SSC) are acceptable to the UK CAA, by actively improving processes and performance of the shared service function. 



You will be responsible for 


Duties and responsibility in the capacity as Norwegian UK Technical Services Manager in accordance with CAME, including:

  • Be a key point of contact with the UK CAA, managing audits and responding to findings.
  • Work alongside the SSC to develop the NUK Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) and monitor its effectiveness, ensuring an annual review of the effectiveness of the AMP is conducted.
  • Establish the NUK Reliability Program within the SSC reliability function, and present reliability data for systems and components at the applicable reliability meetings.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of regulations with reference to airworthiness and environmental matters and ensure that appropriate action is taken to fully comply with these matters.
  • Monitor all Airworthiness Directive information from EASA, FAA or other relevant authorities where applicable, ensuring that the SSC correctly interprets and manages these requirements and that they are embodied on UK aircraft where applicable.
  • Evaluate suggestions for improvements and modifications to aircraft, and make sure that all applicable Service Bulletins and Modifications are correctly assessed and embodied on NUK aircraft where applicable.
  • Establish and conduct the corrective actions listed in the section on non-conformities found during internal audits or deviation reports.
  • Ensure that the NUK Technical Department’s library, including registration, revision control, distribution and filing of technical documents and publications, is performed by the SSC and support where necessary
  • Establish and maintain quality and configuration standards for aircraft, accessories and material, working with the SSC
  • Provide Aircraft phase in/out reports & give support to all redelivery and end-of-lease activity for UK aircraft, including management of the Export C of A process if required.
  • Establish and maintain procedures and routines for Engineering & IT’s use of the computerised maintenance system used by the operator, working alongside the SSC to ensure commonality of these procedures
  • Using Group standards and procedures, develop and approve competency assessments for all UK positions and job roles requiring authorisation of the Engineering Part-M organisation. Manage and ensure delivery of the continuation training plan for UK technical employees.
  • Evaluate and monitor Appendix II contracts and follow up contractual obligations.
  • Representing the group Company at various internal and external forums.

Many of these activities are performed within our Group technical Shared service centre. You will be responsible for collaboration with our shared service team to ensure all the above activities are in place and functioning appropriately.

  • You can manage the regulator and inspire confidence in your ability to take oversight of performance of our Technical SSC
  • You are result orientated, always looking for ways to improve processes, and have knowledge about Lean thinking and methods, and enjoy working with systems and technology
  • You have the ability to build and develop strong relationships with colleagues and are a strong collaborator, able to take problems to the SSC and develop solutions
  • You are able to make thoughtful decisions 
  • You have the ability to work efficiently in a matrix organisation
  • Have strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, ensuring effective flow of information in terms of awareness and understanding



You are our ideal candidate if


  • You have the minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical or quality role within the aviation industry with extensive knowledge of Part M regulatory requirements and the technical functions and activities required to satisfy the regulation
  • Have experience of liaising with the CAA, EASA or another NAA
  • You have technical experience with the ability to see the broader picture of your actions and the financial impact, having a degree or equivalent qualification  / or ‘hands-on’ aircraft maintenance experience
