As our new Product Owner, you will play a key role in Norwegian's digital transformation. You will be responsible for maximizing the value of the products developed by your team by ensuring that the right things are built, in the right order, and for the right reasons. Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, users, and development teams, you will transform strategic ambitions into tangible outcomes and help create products that deliver measurable results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure it reflects business priorities and user needs.
  • Translate strategic objectives, stakeholder requirements, and user insights into clear product goals and actionable initiatives.
  • Define and maintain the product roadmap in alignment with Norwegian's strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather, challenge, and prioritize requirements based on value, cost, risk, and impact.
  • Create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria together with developers, architects, and designers.
  • Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and demonstrations.
  • Ensure that the development team has a clear understanding of priorities and expected outcomes.
  • Monitor product performance, adoption, and business impact, using insights to drive continuous improvements.
  • Communicate product decisions, progress, and priorities in a transparent and engaging manner.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and promote a shared understanding of the product's contribution to Norwegian's success.

 

Your Background and Expertise:

  • Higher education within IT, technology, business development, economics, or a related field. Relevant experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, Project Manager, or similar role in complex environments.
  • Solid understanding of agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
  • Experience with backlog management, prioritization, and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand user needs and value chains.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and understand the impact of technical decisions.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and larger organizations is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Our Story


The Norwegian story began almost three decades ago - we were founded in 1993 but only began operating as a low-cost carrier with Boeing 737 aircraft in 2002. Our core values have remained the same since the beginning – to offer affordable fares for all and to allow customers to travel the smart way by offering value and choice throughout their journey.

The Norwegian brand expanded across the globe as the airline launched short haul services across Europe and then entered the long-haul sector serving the US, Asia and South America. In 2018 the company changed course to focus on core destinations and the right sizing of the airline in response to customer demand and global industry trends.

The rapid global spread of COVID-19 throughout 2020 and into 2021 accelerated this process and in January 2021 the company announced a simplified business structure and a dedicated short haul only network concentrating on a broad range of domestic routes in Norway, across the Nordics and to key European destinations.
