Could you be our new Category Manager Technical? You will be a part of our IT & Technical Procurement department and report to Director IT & Technical Procurement. This position will be located at one of our Support Offices in Oslo, Barcelona or Riga. 

Your daily task will be to negotiate well scoped contracts for Group Technical, focusing on Lean operation and cost efficiency of the designated fleet over the contract lifecycle. You will ensure that Appendix IV and Appendix II contracts are reviewed/executed in a timely manner with input from relevant stakeholders and in line with regulatory requirements. We also expect you to ensure that service providers meet/exceed critical metrics and taking appropriate action to bring up any service delivery issues where necessary. 

 

By conducting market research you will maintain a knowledge base for potential services providers worldwide and perform rolling benchmarking of vendors for all material contract types, calling for tender where potential savings and/or quality improvements may be realised. You will drive a cross-functional coordination with technical, Finance, Asset Management, Lean, IT and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on the overall strategic goals of the business. You will also make sure that the team reports KPIs/Targets delivery to senior management with full transparency.

  • Ad-hoc maintenance contracts
  • Appendix IV and Appendix II contracts
  • Base Maintenance contracts
  • Components repair shops contracts
  • Engine and APU maintenance contracts
  • Engine leases contracts
  • IFE maintenance contracts
  • Line Maintenance contracts
  • Part-M sub-contracted services
  • Pool components contracts
  • Supporting fleet retirement/changes
  • Wheels and Brakes pool/maintenance contracts
  • Initiate and manage RFPs

 


This job will be for you if 

 

  • You have 5+ years’ experience in a technical or commercial role within the aviation industry
  • You have a relevant higher education within Supply Chain, Legal and/or Engineering
  • You have knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements
  • You have cross-functional project management experience
  • You are strong verbal and written communication skills in business English (Language skills in Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish would be an advantage)

Our Story


The Norwegian story began almost three decades ago - we were founded in 1993 but only began operating as a low-cost carrier with Boeing 737 aircraft in 2002. The Norwegian brand expanded across the globe as the airline launched short haul services across Europe and then entered the long-haul sector serving the US, Asia and South America. In 2018 the company changed course to focus on core destinations and the right sizing of the airline in response to customer demand and global industry trends.

The rapid global spread of COVID-19 throughout 2020 and into 2021 accelerated this process and in January 2021 the company announced a simplified business structure and a dedicated short haul only network concentrating on a broad range of domestic routes in Norway, across the Nordics and to key European destinations.
