Could you be our new Category Manager IT? You will be a part of our IT & Technical Procurement department and report to Director Technical & IT Procurement. This position will be located at our Fornebu Support Office, Oslo – Norway.  



Your daily task will be to develop category strategies for new or updated products to improve the overall performance. Build partnerships to promote the IT category’s product’s while cutting cost, while you handle vendors and take lead on negotiations of vendor contracts focusing on lean operation and cost efficiency over the complete contract lifecycle. We expect you to develop, maintain and monitor vendor performance and metrics and develop rolling benchmarking of vendors for all IT services together with the category responsible, calling for tender where potential savings and/or quality improvements may be realised.



You will be responsible for


  • Work cross functional within the IT domain, ensuring input from relevant stakeholders is provided
  • Cross-functional coordination with Finance, Lean, IT and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on the overall strategic goals of the business.
  • Reporting KPIs/targets delivery to senior management with full transparency.
  • Ensuring service providers meet/exceed critical metrics and taking appropriate action to bring up any service delivery issues where necessary.
  • Conduct market research and maintain a knowledge base for potential services providers worldwide.
  • Prepare, manage, and evaluate RFI and RFP process
  • Report financial savings and maintain contract repository in the relevant systems
  • Develop and support cost saving initiatives
  • Contribute to Lean and process improvement initiatives



This job will be for you if


  • You have 5+ years’ experience in a technical or commercial role within IT Procurement
  • You have a relevant higher education/within Procurement, Business Administration, Legal and/or IT
  • You have cross-functional project management experience
  • You have proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with focus on quality
  • You have a high proficiency in various IT software/systems
  • You  are strong verbal and written communication skills in business English, proficiency in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish are preferred

Our Story

The Norwegian story began almost three decades ago - we were founded in 1993 but only began operating as a low-cost carrier with Boeing 737 aircraft in 2002. The Norwegian brand expanded across the globe as the airline launched short haul services across Europe and then entered the long-haul sector serving the US, Asia and South America. In 2018 the company changed course to focus on core destinations and the right sizing of the airline in response to customer demand and global industry trends.

The rapid global spread of COVID-19 throughout 2020 and into 2021 accelerated this process and in January 2021 the company announced a simplified business structure and a dedicated short haul only network concentrating on a broad range of domestic routes in Norway, across the Nordics and to key European destinations.
